So, we've now been on the road for two full days, and have made it as far as Columbus, OH, which is usually just a four-hour drive from Louisville. We've officially had to cancel our second gig of the tour in Allston, MA due to the fact that there's not a chance in hell that we can make it there by tomorrow night. It's not that the snow is particularly bad, it's more that people in the midwest don't react well to snowstorms. Road-clearing is very poor, and the drivers seem to think that they can drive at normal speeds. There were countless times we would see some idiot in a little car zoom by us at 60 mph, only to see them again a few miles down the road off in a ditch.
The result of all this is that we spent much more time sitting still on the highway due to accidents clogging the road than we did actually moving. And oh yeah, the heat in the van is currently broken and it's cold (10 degrees or so, feels like lower). We basically spent the whole day today travelling in a moving freezer. It's frustrating to say the least, especially since we haven't been able to get out of spitting distance from our starting point. Had this happened after we had already gotten some gigs under our belts, our spirits might be a little higher. Sorry to everyone who had planned to come out to our shows in Bolton and Allston. We're doing everything in our power to gain ground so that we don't have to cancel any more from here on out. At this point, it's onward to NYC.
By the way, we finally had our first bit of good luck in that a good friend of the band, Matt (known to most as Diddy) happens to live in Columbus. Not only that, he works at a hotel and has blessed us with shelter. Thank you Diddy. We owe you big time.

Wow that sucks you guys. Yeah, us midwest drivers don't know how to deal in the snow, especially the amount of snow we've been getting. They're saying that it was the worst storm most parts of the region have seen in the past 40 years or so. Just bad timing to try and make a road trip I suppose. Best of luck making it to NY boys!
