I also want to mention this little bit about Dr. Pepper, in regards to the previous post about Guns N' Roses' Chinese Democracy. It seems Dr. Pepper's website was non-functional on the day they promised everyone in America a Dr. Pepper. One of two things occurred: one, they underestimated the amount of people who would be flooding the site for a free soda and their web server crashed, or two, they tried to back out of the deal in a passive-aggressive way by taking their website down. I tried at a few points throughout the day, and never got the website to load once. I don't think there's any way that the site would be that slammed for an entire day, so I'm inclined to think they pulled the plug on purpose. Even if the server crashed legitimately, they certainly didn't exactly rush to get it back online. Whatever. That's typical corporate bullshit for you. I really don't care all that much about it, and don't even particularly like Dr. Pepper (although, oddly enough, I do have a Dr. Pepper t-shirt that I wear fairly often, so I end up giving them free advertising on regular basis for no good reason). Anyway, I bring it up only to mention the following. Apparently, due to this whole debacle, Axl Rose is planning to sue Dr. Pepper. You gotta love Axl.
