It may be an old cliche, but with music, as in life, it's how you finish that matters. Our show at the Hideaway last night started out somewhat...weird. After not having played a show in couple weeks, we were basically shaking off the cobwebs during the first set, although there were some highlights, including the premier of a new song I wrote called "Memphis Blue." So the vibe wasn't completely there to begin with, and then, wouldn't you know, a tube in Jonathan's amp blew up midway through Firefly, the first tune in the second set. So we had call a brief set break so that John could go get a replacement amp head just one tune after we had already taken our normal set break. To make up for it, we played continuously through the end of the second set and our scheduled third set, combining them together. Thankfully, we were also able to lock in as a band, and the energy from the crowd had a lot to do with that. By the time the show ended, I didn't want to stop playing, because I felt like we had finally hit the "zone."
