Velocity Feature/Mehldau vs. Barron/Probert vs. Domi

I also came across this sweet video of pianists Brad Mehldau and Kenny Barron performing "All Blues" together in 1999 at the Umbria Jazz Festival. Two of my favorite pianists. And check out those twin 10-foot Faziolis (the pianos).


The NHL is a little tighter on reigning in the fighting these days, but if you ask me, fighting is one of the things that makes hockey so compelling. I'm not saying it defines the sport, but it definitely adds an extra dimension to what I consider one of the most exciting sports on the planet. Anyway, in the world of hockey fights, Bob Probert of the Detroit Red Wings and Tie Domi of the New York Rangers were Ali and Frazier. Probert was the big bruiser and Domi was the spunky little guy that didn't take crap off anybody. This one is one of the classics:
